High School Skating Team Interest — March 17, 2021
Hello High School Skaters! Are you interested in learning about what skating for an area high school team means? USFSA is hosting a zoom call to learn more about what it takes to participate in an area high school team and the types of competitions that might occur. This is a fun way to skate with other high school aged skaters in our region. We already have a parent coordinator, a team coach and interested student leaders. This does not take the place of your current coach but is a chance to skate at High School area and National competitions.

The zoom (teleconference) will occur on 3/17 at 7:00 pm. Please email DCAreaHighSchoolSkaters@gmail.com for the zoom link. Come listen to the information and learn more.

The Honor and John Johnson Collegiate Scholarship
Are you a Class of 2021 senior planning to attend college this Fall? Are you a primary club member in your third year at SCNV? Were you on a team with either National Blades and/or Virginia Ice Theatre? One of the benefits of club membership for seniors is collegiate scholarships.

Please see the Collegiate Scholarship web page for program eligibility and complete details. Click here for the online application. Deadline is April 9, 2021. Questions? Please contact scholarship@scnv.org.

Cardinal Classic — June 4 – 5, 2021, Prince William Ice Center
SCNV is pleased to announce our Cardinal Classic competition to be held 6/4 to 6/5 at PWIC. The LOC will implement best practices developed in consultation with USFS to provide a safe environment with stringent health protocols in place.

Singles, Showcase, and Compete USA events will be offered. Unfortunately, we will not be offering Theatre on Ice or production team events because we do not have the needed space for socially distanced groups.

IJS judging system will be used for Preliminary-through- Senior well-balanced events, short program events, Excel Plus, and Excel Juvenile-through-Senior events.

The Cardinal Classic is a designated Excel Series competition for the 2021 Excel Series. As an Excel Series event, skaters entered in the Series at eligible levels will earn points for their placement to qualify for the National Festival (assuming conditions permit it to be held).

Check soon when registration opens and other news on our web page at Cardinal Classic.
