Skatewear Consignment Sale – 1/29
Looking to find a competition dress at a good price? Want to recycle outgrown practice wear? SCNV is organizing a used skatewear sale. Here’s your chance to clean out your skating section of your closet. Decide the price, fill out the consignment sales form. Items will be collected now at select times at FIA and PWIC until January 16th, 2023.
SCNV will collect a consignment fee of 20% on each sale as part of its fundraising drive. The sale will take place on January 29th, 2023 at Fairfax Ice Arena during the 1/29 test session at FIA. Nationals Nite – 1/29
Please join SCNV for Nationals Nite (Afternoon) PJ party where we will watch the US Figure Skating National Championship Men Free Skate.
Come in your favorite PJs, bring a cozy sleeping bag, and enjoy a good time with your skaters friends.

Scott Hamilton Skaters Education Fund – 2/17
The Scott Hamilton Skaters Education Fund was established to assist eligible current and former amateur and professional ice skaters who dedicated their lives to skating and now wish to pursue a college education.
Scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. Eligible individuals are skaters that have competed at least once in a U.S. Figure Skating qualifying competition at the novice level or higher in either men’s, ladies, ice dance or pairs.
This scholarship program is administered through U.S. Figure Skating and scholarships are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin. A total of $300,000 will be awarded, ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 per recipient. Scholarship recipients will be announced in June of 2023.
Applications are currently open, and the deadline to apply is Feb. 17, 2023.
TFSC – 2023 Capital Regional Council Kickoff Competition – 4/21 to 4/23
Join us in Chesapeake, VA, for the Capital Regional Council Kickoff Competition, an Excel Series event. The Competition will be held April 21-23, 2023 at Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex, Chesapeake, VA.
This is open to all skaters including Compete USA, Well-Balanced, Excel, Adults, Showcase, Ice Dance, Production and Theatre on Ice. Please see attachment for a save the date printout and please share with your coaches and clubs! Announcement to follow and registration will be on EMS.
TFSC will also be hosting the Colonial Classic Compete USA Competition the weekend of June 23-24 and the ‘Road to Gold’ Seminar June 25-26. We look forward to seeing you in April and in June!
NSA Turn Dreams Into Goals – 6/12 to 6/16

What are your skaters summer training plans? Train with the Best is a week long intensive training camp featuring guest coaches Frank Carroll, Chris Conte and Signe Ronka along with speciality coach Rob Peal for Ice Dance. Train with the Best Camp is June 12-16, 2023 in Nashville, TN. Campers will be divided into training groups based on freeskate level and have daily group classes with guest coaches and NSA elite coaches. Optional private lessons will also be offered with guest coaches and NSA staff coaches. Campers should be 8 years of age by 5/1/2023 and have passed their MITF Pre-Pre test. Skaters who do not meet both of these requirements and would like to be considered for camp should contact the Skate Academy office. Have a question about participating? Cardinal Classic News

Club Ice is Back!
Happy New Year! Club Ice resumes 1/8 where members can pay $18 to drop-in anytime (and non-members limited to 3 times). Monday’s Solo Pattern Dance classes resume 1/9.
