Did You Know?!

Below is information on local dance programs that may benefit your young skater (both unaffiliated with our club):

The St. James (TSJ) is starting a weekly figure-skater focused ballet class on Saturday 1pm – 2pm, beginning September 9th. This class runs for 10 months and will be taught by their Director of Dance, Laveen Naidu. Ages 7-13 are welcome. If your skater is over the age of 11, please contact Laveen and he will register you (see email below). Beginner through Intermediate ballet experience is welcome. The class is titled “Beginner/Advanced Beginner Ballet Program”, however Laveen will make this class focused on figure skater needs as long as a handful of skaters register. This includes body lines, arm position, core, posture, upper body strength and flexibility. The class will not be larger than 12 students. Online Discount Code: STJDance2 provides 15% (contact Laveen Naidu to confirm/questions during registration). Your local organizer is Carrie Markels.

A budget-friendly and casual option is Axial Dance which offers contemporary, ballet, tap, hip-hop and more at the Burke Club in Burke, VA. Please contact Laura Wren for more details on group or private lessons and workshops with Fall/Spring sessions with dance recitals included.
