Thuthuy Huynh bio

I was born in Saigon, Viet Nam and lived there until 10 years old. In 1980, I came to the United States and have been a resident of Fairfax County ever since. My daughter, Kimmie Nguyen, and I have been members of SCNV since 2009. Kimmie is now a sophomore at George Mason University and still skates at Fairfax Ice Arena. She is competing as senior ladies. When she is not skating, she coaches at Fairfax Ice Arena.

Currently I work as a Senior Software Engineer for the Information Technology department of Fairfax County Public Schools. I am also a part-time real estate agent with the Good Life Team of Fairfax Realty and a proud sponsor of SCNV. Outside of work, I volunteer with the Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue, transporting rescued pugs to their foster or permanent homes. When I am not transporting to these pugs, you can find me at rink sides, judging at test sessions as an USFS official. I hope to get my silver singles appointment soon!

I have been SCNV Test Chair for the past six years. Under my leadership, SCNV continues to offer monthly test sessions, enabling hundreds of skaters, both members and non-members, to achieve their goals. Despite so many additional obstacles during the pandemic, SCNV continues to offer test sessions, taking into consideration the safety of our officials, skaters, and volunteers.

If elected, I will continue to serve as test chair on SCNV Board of Directors.
