Please consider sending a recipe for an upcoming cookbook in tribute to those lost on Flight 5342.
The author (Michelle Capron) is currently creating Volume 3 of the FIGURE SKATERS’ FAVORITES cookbook series In honor and memory of the victims of the January 29th tragedy. ALL proceeds from the book will be donated to the US Figure Skating Family Support Fund.

ALL members of the skating community are encouraged to contribute recipes to this very special project. There will also be opportunities to purchase display ads, special message space, and to be included in the list of supporters. Michelle would like to get as many skaters and skating clubs to send recipes as possible, since we all felt this tragedy so deeply. This is a great way for skaters and clubs to help support the fund and remember those we have lost.
Submissions should be in by 8/31/25. You are also welcome to send recipes to remember other members of the skating community whom we have lost. PLEASE share this information with members of the skating community so we can get everyone involved and help honor those we have lost. Questions? Please contact Michelle at skaterscookbook@gmail.com.
Only one test remains this summer at Fairfax Ice Arena. Singles, Skating Skills, and Solo and Partnered Pattern Dance will be available, for standard, adult and adaptive tracks.

For years, club ice has been an anchor program at our home rink at FIA. However after COVID, very few skaters and coaches take advantage of our club subsidized ice time for various reasons. In alignment of this reality, we are contemplating a reduced schedule of offering only Sunday mornings for the 2025-2026 season. For the club to break even, we need at least 18 subscribers on each Freestyle (FS) session to maintain the Monday evening schedule.
Meanwhile, we welcome your feedback for next season and the future of club ice at FIA. Questions/comments? Please contact clubice@scnv.org.
