Club Leaders Needed!
Want to make a difference with your or your skater’s club? Looking to learn new or broaden your job skills as an active volunteer? Each year the Nominating Committee searches for leaders from our primary home membership to continue our mission of supporting skaters of all levels, and offering a warm and friendly atmosphere for skaters and their families.

In addition to having a positive attitude and being a team player, highly desired skills include small business management/accounting, digital publications, music technician, social event planning, fundraising, officiating and more!

Collegiate Scholarships 4/9
Are you a Class of 2021 senior planning to attend college this Fall? Are you a primary club member in your third year at SCNV? Were you on a team with either National Blades and/or Virginia Ice Theatre? One of the benefits of club membership for seniors is collegiate scholarships.

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has started planning for Cardinal Classic to be held this summer. Interested in volunteering or joining the LOC? Please contact melissa@scnv.org

Club Ice News
Are you a skater looking for extra practice ice with smaller crowds? Consider Club Ice on either/both Sunday mornings or Monday evenings. As a reminder, the remaining Spring 2021 Club Ice dates for Freestyle (FS) and Solo Pattern Dance (SPD) are:

• Sundays FS: 2/14 (new!), 2/21, 2/28, 3/7, 3/21, 5/9, 5/23 and 6/6
• Mondays SPD+FS: 2/8, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 6/7 and 6/14

For Valentine’s Day FS on 2/14, this is drop-in only ($15 for current subscribers, $18 otherwise). Questions? Please contact clubice@scnv.org

Did you know?!
Congratulations to the following Nationals Night contest winners!

• Ladies Podium – Nobody got all 4 correct, but Congratulations to Nalaie Zelkin who predicted 3 of the 4 correctly.
• Men’s Podium – Nobody got all 4 correct but 14 correctly predicted Gold, Silver, Bronze. Congratulations go out to Coach Brenda!
• Pairs Podium – Seven of our members predicted this correctly. Congratulations to our winner Frances Kern.
• Dance Podium – Four members predicted this correctly and congratulations go out to Karen Adelstein.
• Ladies Gold Medalist – Only four of you predicted Bradie. Congratulations to our winner Dasha Streke.
• Men’s Gold Medalist – No surprise here in that 61 of us predicted Nathan Chen, the King of Quads! Congratulation to our winner Roberta Rothschild.
• Pairs Gold Medalists – 24 of us went with the new team and congratulations go out to Cheryl Litman.
• Dance Gold Medalists – We had 15 members get this correct and congratulations to our winner Ella Joshi.
• We did not have a grand prize winner that got all 4 podium spots correct in all 4 disciplines. And nobody got all 4 gold medalists correct but I added a bonus category and 9 of our members correctly predicted 3 of the 4 gold medalists. Congratulations to our winner in this bonus category, Amy Dobrowansky.
