Looking Forward to 2022

First, we want to applaud all of our members for your commitment to skating and your enthusiam during these difficult times. Second, we unfortunately need to share with you that we have cancelled our usual Nationals Night in light of the current COVID outbreaks. Additionally, we have cancelled our planned January test session, all skaters and coaches have been contacted with options for virtual testing or other modified opportunities.

What is happening in 2022?

Bests wishes to SCNV member Matthew Sperry and his partner Kristina Bland who are competing at 2022 US Figure Skating Championships in Junior Dance. We also congratulate Edward Zhao who qualified for the 2022 National Development Team in Juvenile Boys. Both Matthew and Eddie received grants from othe SCNV Competitors’ Fund to help defray their training and travel expenses.

A reminder to our 2022 high school seniors that applications for the Honor and John Johnson Collegiate Scholarships are now open. For more info go to HJJ Collegiate Scholarships

SCNV has awarded over $20,000 of scholarship and competitor support since the establishment of the funds. Please consider supporting SCNV funds as part of your year-end giving. SCNV is a 501 (c)(3) organization and  all donations are tax-deductible. To donate, contact cheryl@scnv.org.

We are still having our club ice on Sunday morning and Monday evenings. Space is available. Contact clubice@scnv.org for more information on subscription and pick ups.

There will be test sessions in February and beyond – see the SCNV website and calendar for future dates.

National Blades will be hosting a Compete USA synchro competition on Sunday, January 16th and then a send-off exhibition on January 23rd  for our National Blades US Figure Skating competition teams heading off to the Eastern Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships in Norwood, Massachussetts. Best of luck to all of the teams!!!

We hope to host a send-offs for our Adult skaters heading to sectionals and/or nationals in mid-February. Look out for more information.

Cardinal Classic is happening for 2022. April 1-3rd at the Prince William Ice Center. Start getting your programs ready to kick off the 2022 season.
